San Diego Comic-Con 2026 was more than a convention for the Kaidro team. It was a full-circle experience combining family, storytelling, publishing, and years of creative work.
From Comic-Con Memories to Kaidro
Comic-Con has been part of Peggy and Robert’s creative journeys for years. What began with childhood visits, comics, and discovering the convention eventually led to bringing their own world, Kaidro, to the same community that inspired them. This year, they returned with a different purpose: to present and build Kaidro.
A Major Milestone for Kaidro
A major highlight was the official beginning of the partnership with Storyteller Publishing and Macmillan Distribution for the Kaidro Deluxe hardcover edition. After years of late nights, conventions, Kickstarters, story development, and setbacks, seeing Kaidro move toward stores around the world was a meaningful milestone.
Family, Panels, and Comic-Con Chaos
Between crowded convention floors and packed schedules, the family also found time to step away and let the kids simply enjoy themselves. Peggy spoke on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in comics and media, while Robert participated in the How to Make It in Storytelling panel. Meeting creators, authors, publishers, and fans also created opportunities to share experiences and hear from other creatives.
The Power of Showing Up
For the Kaidro creators, the convention reinforced an important part of their journey: continuing to show up. Comic-Con 2026 was another step forward for Kaidro, connecting the creators with the community while bringing the world closer to readers and audiences around the globe.
