From Passion Project to Published Graphic Novel: The Story Behind Kaidro
In our first Creators Vlog, we look back at the journey that transformed Kaidro from an idea into a growing multimedia universe spanning graphic novels, games, and immersive storytelling.
Where It All Began
The earliest ideas for Kaidro began taking shape in 2015 during a road trip through Yellowstone National Park. Inspired by our love of classic anime, world-building, and years of experience in the game industry, we set out to build an original universe that could live across multiple forms of media. What started as sketches, conversations, and countless brainstorming sessions eventually became the foundation for the world fans know today.
Building a Community
As development continued, we began sharing our creative process on TikTok, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at character design, storytelling, and world-building. When the world shifted during the 2020 lockdowns, we adapted alongside it. Kaidro evolved into a digital-first graphic novel, launching on Webtoon and connecting with readers around the globe. The support from our community helped fuel a successful Kickstarter campaign and ultimately opened the door to traditional publishing.
